Field Notes

Description:

Orange lady beetle with three black spots on each side of elytra. Central dark spot just behind protonum. Black and white head and protonum. Introduced species (intentional introduction as a beneficial, predatory insect).

Habitat:

Heckscher State Park. Seaside dune area. In a stand of reeds next to the road.
