Agree with jamiegoodspeed on ID. Really interesting defense mechanism. Killdeers build their nests on the ground. If a predator threatens, they fly a little ways off and simulate injury and distress, they stick a wing out in a way that makes it look broken and try to draw the attacker away. Unique, as far as I know.
