Two unknown species of Viola flowers spotted near a small stream that flows through the "Wildlife Sanctuary."

Habitat:

Plants growing near an intermittent stream that runs through the "Wildlife Sanctuary," one of seven small parks owned and maintained by the Community Association of Hollin Hills, Fairfax County, Virginia USA. Thanks for the ID, Hope! I just uploaded a second photo. I was fairly certain the flowers shown in Photo 2 are wild violet; I still think the flowers in Photo 1 look more like wild irises than violets. Thanks for the kind word, Ursula!
