Field Notes

Description:

A slug about 5 inches long, slim, reticulated pattern on the tail end, mantle is dark brown and has raised spots on it.

Habitat:

Garden amidst a temperate rain forest. Hiding under a doormat.

Notes:

This has characteristics of the gray garden slug, but I'm not certain of its species, even after checking out the excellent identification guide at http://idtools.org/id/mollusc/key.php?key=tmt.
