Field Notes

Description:

Hopper of some sort. Front legs reminds me a bit of the many ticks we have here in the Mlawula reserve. A bit over one cm in length.

Habitat:

Common and we often see them in the reserve. They seem to be attracted to areas close to water and with riverine forest with some shade.

Notes:

Same type of hopper in this link: http://www.ispot.org.za/node/144329

I missed out on a few Tom, since I touched them and they jumped off :) So you are not the only one fooled here :)
Nice! Fooled me at first, it looked like a moth:-)
Excellent! I'm so happy to help. I hadn't heard of that site before but will bookmark it for later. Thank you :)
You did it again! Your information Cindy, lead me to this link: http://www.ispot.org.za/node/144329 Not a full ID, but the same type of specimen! I will add your suggestion to the ID, and keep it open for a future suggestion from someone with local knowledge! Super-thanks!!!!!!
