Description:
This is a diving duck described as a "sawbill". You can see the serrated edges of the bill in this cropped photograph. The male has a dark head, white neck with a rusty breast, a black back, and white underparts.
Habitat:
They breed in freshwater lakes and rivers across northern North America, Greenland, Europe, and Asia.
Notes:
This is migrant bird that I photographed by a bridge at a local reservoir.
