Description:

Triangular stem-leaves remind of Lily of the Valley, so it can easily be confused (be careful, because those are poisonous), but can be separated by the smell, which is slightly garlic-like. When in bloom it has white flowers.

Habitat:

Woodlands. Needs moist soil.

Notes:

Other names: buckrams, wild garlic, broad-leaved garlic, wood garlic, bear leek, bear's garlic. In Slovenian: divji česen, medvedji česen, gozdni česen, kačji lek ali štrkavec.//Leaves of this plant are edible and can be used in/as salad, spice, boiled in a soup, you can even make different kinds of spreads which you can eat on a bread from it. The bulbs and flowers are also very tasty.// Ramson can detoxify almost the whole body. Among other things, it improves the activity of the stomach and intestines, has an antiseptic effect, reduces fever, cleanses the entire body, lowers blood pressure. //Traditional phytotherapy recognizes it for beneficial effects on blood pressure and cholesterol, it is also effective against atherosclerosis. It can effectively regulate and reduce high blood pressure and reduce the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. It is recommended for people who have digestive disorders such as diarrhea, flatulence, loss of appetite and indigestion. It also eliminates roundworms. Fresh leaves are ready for use in the treatment of kidney and bladder, and increased urine output. It cleans lungs and liver and gall bladder. It also increases resistance against infections.
