Description:

Never saw much more than the head, he was just popping up for air off the jetty every now and then. Either a green or loggerhead, just not sure which one.

Habitat:

On the jetty at the beach.

With the pattern on the sides and top of the head and face, and with the shape of the front beak, I would probably say it's a Green Sea Turtle. Loggerheads are similar but have a more pointy beak usually.
oh wow you are totally right it probably is green i really screwed up on the ID... sorry...
Did you not think putting a link to that photo was a good idea then? Because you've done nothing to convince me you're right so far
oh because right after i found a loggerhead photo and decided that was what it was. :)
Wondering why you gave an ID suggestion to loggerhead after you just said you don't know which one it is?
I'm figuring green as well, but there was also a loggerhead in the area I wasn't able to get photos of. I've asked some other people on this site who dive a lot and are more familiar with sea turtles to look at it, thanks for weighing it too!
could it be a green sea turtle its defiantly not a leatherback or a ridley probably not a hawksbill... so green or maybe loggerhead.
