Description:

Scilla are perennial bulbs with narrow basal leaves and erect stems bearing racemes of star-shaped, flat or bell-shaped flowers which are often blue
S. bifolia is a bulbous perennial to 15cm in height, with narrow, paired basal leaves and erect stems bearing racemes of 2-10 star-shaped violet-blue flowers about 20mm in width in early spring

Habitat:

Scilla bifolia is native to Europe and western Russia south through Turkey to Syria. The plant is found in shady places, woods of beech or deciduous trees, and mountain grasslands. It grows at an altitude of 100–2,000 m (330–6,600 ft) above sea level.
