Description:

Long legged water fowl. Long beak. Stark black and white coloring. Usually one or two beige headed ones in with them.

Habitat:

Water run off from a wheat field.

Notes:

The beige headed bird is an American Avocet, Recurvirostra americana.

The one in the center with the upturned black bill is an American avocet - one of my favorites! The rest are a flock of black-legged stilts. Nice shots!
