Field Notes

Description:

Dark colored goose. In the water it appears to be all black with a white necklace on the throat. The back and chest is a dark brown and leads to brown and white on belly. Under tail is all white.

Habitat:

Mostly found near or in the ocean. Some have been spotted in the bay.

Notes:

I have had bad timing finding these until I went to some tidepools and spotted them in a cove and on the beach. There were 8 of them within 30 ft from me.
