Description:

Roger Tory Peterson described this marvelous finch as "a sparrow dipped in raspberry juice." Since then, this description has become one of the most famous and most useful when looking for an identification. Roger Tory Peterson is a very famous North American naturalist, founding the basis for the Peterson Field Guides.

Habitat:

Found at the bird feeder near the Catalpa.
