Field Notes

Description:

Delicate viscid white mushroom with cap about 15mm wide. Slightly depressed center with a pale grey-brown colour around it but margin was white and crenulated or wrinkled.
Stipe - almost translucent with ? minute hair-like growth.

Habitat:

Growing on a dead log in a damp forest gully

Notes:

This could be Mycena carmeliana but to be certain I need to see the base of the stipe, which is said to have an striate orange disc. Will try to locate it again to get better shots. These mushrooms were small and growing from a partly buried log- had to reach down to photograph them. Could not see the gills either.
