I found it in dry forest from the north of my country. Now Thailand is in summer. It is very hot. There were lots of 'exuva' of cicadas at trees at the moment. I heard loud song from them in the wood. I knew they all were there, but I haven't seen them at that time. And they also peed on me too. Haha.
Hi Juthamus. Welcome to Project Noah. This is an 'exuva', the shell left after the cicada has completed it's moult and expanded it's wings to fly off and seek a mate. The white 'strings' on it are the last things connected to the breathing tubes as it comes out. Nice find. Hope you enjoy the website. Looking forward to more.
Was this just the shell, or the Live speciman? - very pretty!
