You are right. I think there is a mistake in Piñas publication, because the picture in the Piñas publication looks exactly the same that the one I have here.
I don't think that it is Syllepis. Look at the yellow margin on the forewing. In yours the edge is completely dark and there is also a broad dark bar on the forewing. In Syllepis there is a round patch at the edge with a yellow border and the complete brad bar at the margin is interrupted. And the clear "comma" on the forewing is missing. Although you always might have some variability I am still confident with my suggestion of Eulepte sp. Syllepis: http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=5283
According to Piñas R. Francisco, Mariposas del Ecuador, Vol. 3 y 4. Fam : Pyralidae, p. 62, this is a Pyraustinae of the genus Syllepis.
Crambidae, Pyraustinae, Spilomelini, Eulepte sp., can't get closer, too many similar around.
