It is the only Fence Lizard in the SF Bay Area. They may look different but they are all Coast Range
Western is a generic name for western states. Coast Range is the subspecies name for the Fence Lizards in our area.

thnx Kd. this is a family of scaly lizards. Scales are not this obvious though. Closeups often reveal the scales.
