Description:

This vibrant individual seemed to be one of the first to shed most of its winter plumage, although some remants can be found behind the head in photos two and three. Males are characterized by a generally brighter color with somewhat of a black cap.

Ok I'm jealous of this one! I've never seen a goldfinch in breeding plumage, we only get them in winter plumage. Great shots and series!
