Field Notes

Description:

Is a common lily in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula characterized by: a perennial herb bearing, bulbous: leaves alternate, like a saber, flowers pink to purple, unilateral spike, consisting of six petaloid tepals inferiorly soldiers in a tube short, with three stamens, and fruit capsule with winged seedes.

Habitat:

The pastures and crags, and used to decorate altars of the Virgin in May.

I'm sorry but this is not a gladiolus...It's an alcea, and most likely an Alcea setosa, wich is a very common wildflower of the Mediterranean region...
