Pižmovka! :) Although at first I thought it was nutrija (coypu). Haven't seen this one for real -yet, so nice find! :)
I found that they live in France, introduced because of fur and food :)
Hehehe, I checked the list of mammals of France, but they had not included the introduced species :D. Because of the fashion they have introduced the animals that had useful fur :D
hahaha That's all rodents I know, including Beaver :)
It does look like a Muscrat. It has the rudder-like tail that Muscrats have.
My last try is Common muskrat... it's introduced in Europe
No, it's not that as well. But I need to upload the nutria spotting as well :). I started to think maybe it's an invasive species
I agree, just remind me of Water vole, my second thought was Nutria?
That's the first thing I thought of but it's not. This one is a bit bigger and has a weird tail that doesn't look like the water voles tail. That's why I put the second photo to show the weird tail used for swimming :D
maybe Arvicola amphibius, Water Vole...?
