Field Notes

Description:

The caterpillars leave their tent during the day to forage, and return at night. At 3 PM, the tent was busy, with different sized caterpillars coming and going quite quickly, both around the tent, and into and out of the tent.

Habitat:

Several tents were in this patch of fragmented mixed oak-hickory forest.
