Field Notes

Description:

A large wasp and its equally large pot. Easily the largest wasp pot that I have seen.

The wasp is over an inch long (estimate) and has a yellow tipped abdomen.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.

Notes:

A light tap on the branch and the wasp appeared, to investigate the disturbance. Not a recommended procedure, but I sat for an hour in the hot sun yesterday, waiting for the wasp to appear.
