Description:

pendulous red and yellow flower, small evergreen plant

Habitat:

cloudforest, 3300m

Notes:

I spotted this at refugio del condor while waiting for the birds to show up in Purace national park.

Augusto, I have already joined that mission a long time ago, but each spotting is only allowed 5 missions assigned to them. I choose these 5 missions, even though there are more that are appropriate, I couldn't assign them all.
It is not necessary to be vine, some Bomarea have upright stems. It could be some strange Alstroemeria, but I'm more willing to think it's Bomarea sp. :)
Thanks Atanas, the flowers do look similar but I'm not sure if it is Bomarea. The leaves don't match with any I see online and it wasn't a vine.
Bomarea species is but I don't know which one. :-S
