Description:
As of April 20, it stands about 10" if I pull it upright . Mostly it is prostrate. Typical ovoid milkweed leaves, dusty green but with lovely rose- pink veins !
No blossoms yet. Book says they will be "pink to lavender". Can't wait to see them!
Habitat:
Florida Sandhills (this is my area) scrubs, pine flatwoods, dry ruderal sites.
Notes:
I noticed this a few months ago and at first thought it was a fake plant! Then I took a closer look and realized it was real. Took me a while to think of actually identifying it. Glad I did- I think it's sorta cool! Told hubby he'd better not mow it over - I put a stake in the ground to mark it!
I'm in the process of creating a 100% native plant garden, and this one just appeared !
