Description:

A beautiful kingfisher which appears in Spring and Summer in New York, Megaceryle alcyon, the Belted Kingfisher is characterized by its bluish-gray head and back with a white breast and a bluish-gray collar. The throat is white. Females have a rusty coloration around the bluish-gray collar.

Notes:

LIFER! Boy, was this a beauty! Too bad it didn't let me closer!
