Description:

A lovely Icterid, Molothrus ater, the male Brown-headed Cowbird has a distinct brown head and black body. Females are light brown. Although native to North America, they have become very detrimental to endangered species of birds, destroying the eggs.

Habitat:

More commonly a field bird, they usually do not appear at feeders so willingly. I wonder if it is due to the late Spring they are needing more food.
