Field Notes

Habitat:

Half way between the 1st and 2nd bridge along the gorge.

Notes:

Many of these large butterflies I saw had bites out of them, or were a bit ragged from unknown reasons.

These butterflies seem to be quite variable in colour, from black to shades of brown. The similar looking swallowtails that we get in the area have the "tail" on the hind wing.
