Description:

Another owl spotted in the White Rock Lake area of Dallas, Texas. (I didn't take the picture, but I am posting it for a friend with her permission).

Nice spotting! I would suggest flipping the images around so the closer cropped one is the preview of the spotting.

Thanks again. I thought it was a totally different owl. I am ashamed about how little I know about the natural world.
They come in both a gray and red phase, this site shows good photos of both, http://www.owlpages.com/owls.php?genus=Megascops&species=asio By the way, I'm super jealous of this since I haven't seen a red one yet!
