Field Notes

Description:

Greenish back, yellow chested bird with red eyes and black head, black beak with red closer to the head ( male) and pink legs. The female looks less fancy with brownish streaking. About 20cm.

Habitat:

Near the ocean at flying Fish Point, Queensland , Australia.

Notes:

This group of little loud birds were all hanging out in the rain together. First i thought they were two different friendly birds, untill I found out that the bland looking ones are the females!
