Identified by sound only. First time I've heard this bird this far north. Usually we get the whip-poor-will. I've also heard both at Ferne Clyffe State Park.

They nest on the ground? Didn't notice the baby at first!
Beautiful.. Looks like nightjar the bird called in Indonesia. Are they the same family ?
