Description:

There were 14 ducklings following their mother across this nature reserve pond, she was very protective of them and if a moorhen got too close it soon got seen off regardless of if it posed a threat or not. there were several mallards on the pond but only this female with any ducklings.

Habitat:

seen in a nature garden set up for wetland species in Moraira.

Thanks Tom, I know you can see mallards everywhere but these were just too cute not to take and 14 does seem like a very large brood, there must have been little or no predators about in the area for her to have so many.
That's a lot of ducklings, nice spotting!
