Field Notes

Description:

Large insect, approximately the size of a very large bumble bee. It had almost butterfly shaped wings that it beat rapidly and could hover like hummingbirds. (that's what I thought it was, at first, a very small hummingbird since there were a couple of them enjoying this tree as well) It had yellow and black stripes like a bee and 6 legs but the tale resembled that of a bird.
