Field Notes

Description:

The national bird of Belize, eye to lens with me in the zoo

Habitat:

The Belize zoo is a small but well appointed zoo collection of natives species, originally founded as a collection of animals used in rainforest documentary filmings in 1983. The current collections consists largely of rescued wildlife. Cages are spacious, but simple and photography is challenging since very few are behind glass

Notes:

It was hard to tell who was having more fun. The toucans in this enclosure, or the three of us with our camers
