Field Notes

Description:

Very small passerine bird. Large brown cap, wide white cheek stripe, dark throat. Back is chestnut color with grey belly. Wings and tail are a greyish brown.
Will either be found alone or grouped with Bushtits moving from brush to brush.

Habitat:

Mix woods, shrubs and can also be found in cities.

Notes:

Startled this one on a trail. It jump up on a branch right next to me and was curious about the sound my camera was making. I believe that might be dog hair he's got since this is a well traveled dog walking trail or even fox that has been spotted in the area.

Yeah they are. I usually don't take pictures of them much since I have so many now. But just couldn't pass this one up it was so close and the dog hair was funny.
these are cute. Would like to see the Boreal Chicadee too.
