Field Notes
Description:
Medium sized beetle. Black wings with a "golden pubescence". Rounded front of protonum with pink and yellow near outer edges. Diurnal Firefly so doesn't light up.
Habitat:
Sunken Meadow State Park, New York. Hiding in a crevice of bark on a tree.
Notes:
It was a bit chilly but apparently these guys are not uncommon in cooler weather that is above freezing.
