Description:

This small beetle is bright as a button and widespread along the eastern coast of Australia. This specimen is a variation of the usual form. The rear image (only) shows two spots (in bright red) on each side that also appear in the previous sighting (in the same tree). http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/229256023/fullscreen of a related beetle

Habitat:

Large eucalyptus tree.

Quite a unique little beetle. One would swear that he had been painted if not knowing better.
