Description:

Black Ichneumonid wasp of about 1.5 cm with a white band in the middle of the antennae and white socks on the hind legs.

Habitat:

Oak-pine wooded area on the outskirts of San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you Martin, your's and Sergio's are very similar. This one is more like that of Juan Carlos (also Mexico) in body shape, except that his is orange-bodied with 3 white metatarsal segments and this one is all black with 2 white metatarsal segments. Maybe same genus? http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/16670204/fullscreen. (There ought to be tiny white footprints! :)
