Field Notes

Description:

A small falcon of northern forests and prairies, the Merlin is the least well-marked of the American falcons. It is becoming a regular breeder in urban areas.

Habitat:

Landed it tall dead tree in mixed woodland.

Notes:

This is the first time I have seen this species. This bird was there then it wasn't; stayed for about 30 seconds, that's why the picture quality isn't so great, didn't have much time.
