Field Notes

Description:

The grey bird in pics 2 and 3 has immature plumage. The parents are strongly black and white but the white color moderates to grey during non breeding times.

Habitat:

Scratching for food on the lawn. They seemed to be eating grass.

Woops. btw, my major was in botany and it still sometimes shows.
Ha ha - foliage - probably hiding in the plumage.
