I want to suggest that the plant may be an invasive or cultivated ginger. Without more information such as a description of the feel of the leaves, a pic of the flower under the leaves, evergreen or not etc. I cant be sure. I believe it could be a European ginger since the leaf looks like a very thick leaf and an evergreen variety. The flower is very non-descript and brown in color. Leaves when crumpled up have q very distinct ginger smell. Also grow in very tight "colonies" of plants.
