Long-horned bee, Abeja de cuernos largos

Lonely bee with large body covered with dense white or yellowish hair. The male is somewhat larger than a Honey Bee has very long antennae. The female does not have long antennae and is more robust. Both sexes are most easily found by searching large patches of Meadow Vetchling Lathyrus pratensis in May, though they will also visit clovers, vetches and other legumes. Males can be important pollinators of certain orchids.
