Field Notes

Description:

One of the larger wrens in the area. Reddish brown back and head with pattern similar to most wrens with barring on tail and wings and spotty on back. No eyebrow like some wrens. Distinct feature is the white throat and long, slender, slightly downward curved bill. Another distinct feature is it's call that echos through canyons.

Habitat:

Canyons and large rock formations.

Notes:

I was driving by in a small canyon and heard the call. Spotted him on a large boulder, very verbal and visible.
