Description:

Tree with weird "needle" like things sticking out. It looked a bit like roots but they were on weird places and very light coloured.

Habitat:

Standing near Josephine Falls, Queensland, Australia.

Never heard of arial roots! Very interesting. I did not feel them. And it probably was a fig tree. So I guess your suggestion makes good sense. Thanks
Looks like some kind of fig tree maybe? If so aerial roots might be happening after a big wet season... that's my 1st theory anyway. Did you feel them? Flexible?
