Yellow Flowerpot Parasol
Leucocoprinus birnbaumii
-27.5084, 153.018
Field Notes
Description:
Pale yellow agaric mushrooms. Caps covered with scales. Long stipes with fine scales and ring. Fine gills, pale and closely spaced.
Habitat:
My backyard. Growing in the soil of a pot plant which contains a Grevillea. Soil would be native plant mix. It's very humid at present after a week of heavy rain.
Notes:
I've not seen fungi like this in my yard before. I'll keep an eye on them over the next few days to see how the develop. Day 2 and the caps have spread, some very flat with edges curling upwards exposing the gills. Fine yellow scales have become dark and crusty. Gills fine, mostly white.
