Field Notes

Description:

Late in the afternoon, I looked out of the glass door, that opened onto the outdoor patio, and I spotted one reptile, walking across the outdoor patio screen. This reptile is dark in color, and this reptile is alive. Reptile: Any of various usually cold-blodded, egg-laying vertebrates, often grouped in the class Reptilia, having dry skin covered with scales or horny plates, and breathing by means of lungs, which includes snakes, lizards, crocodilians, and turtles.

Habitat:

I spotted this reptile, walking across the outdoor patio screen.

Notes:

I spotted this reptile, walking across the outdoor patio screen, late in the afternoon.

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

It is difficult to see, but by the silhouette of the body, it appears to be a Carolina anole, which is native to FL and can change color from green to brown...The cuban anole is brown and is an invasive species (it has "bumps" on its back...not smooth like the native anole)...
