Field Notes

Description:

Female of the species on her nest; head and nape are black, remainder of feathering is rufous brown; blue eye ring; insectivorous medium sized passerine

Habitat:

Berenty Reserve is located in the dry spiny forest region of south Madagascar. There is some "canopy" forest of leafy trees--tamarind, etc. and the nest was approx 7 ft. off the ground beside a path in this private nature reserve.
