Description:

This young Black-Crowned Night Heron was letting everybody know he wasn't real happy as he loudly called with a loud, barking kowk! The young bird is dull gray-brown and lightly spotted with white. Black-crowned night herons nest in reeds in a thicket or reedbed. This bird was seen in such an area.

Habitat:

Seen at Wakadohatchee Wetlands Preserve.
