Description:
very small 1mm beetle. So small it was only visible because it was moving and a different color from the tree bark. It was very active and fast moving, and hard to get a good clear photo.
Habitat:
backyard live oak tree trunk about 5 feet above the ground. It was moving around and under overhanging areas in the bark.
Notes:
It looks somewhat like a beetle in the Nitidulidae - Sap-feeding Beetles family---- subfamily Cybocephalinae . I really have no idea however. I simply looked at online photos until I saw one that was the same size and general shape.
