Field Notes

Description:

Eastern Grey Squirrel

Habitat:

Dense woodland ecosystems with an understory vegetation that provides them sufficient amount of food sources and favorable shelters. They live in dens that they construct upon large tree branches and within the hollow of trees.

Notes:

This squirrel was working very hard to get seed from a protected bird feeder. I witnessed this squirrel jump at least 6 feet from a tree branch and land on top of the bird feeder. Pretty Amazing leap.
