Field Notes

Description:

Medium sized beetle. Mottled black/gray/brownish. Ridges on elytrae. Spine on either side of protonum. Fairly short antennae for a Longhorn Beetle. Larvae usually found in Pine but has been found in other types of trees as well.

Habitat:

Suburban area.

Notes:

This beetle landed on someone and ended up inside briefly. Had some mites, probably Phoretic Mites (hitchhikers). Generally considered a pest.
