Field Notes

Description:

Large game bird with a bronze iridescence in the feathers, more noticeable when they puff up for courting or battling. Wings are dark, and barred with white. The rump and tail feathers are tipped with white. Their heads are bare skin and can range from red to blue to gray.
Legs are thick with a sharp spur.

Habitat:

Mostly found in woodlands but can also be found in open land, parks and urban areas.
